Not at all. Chefnero is a commission platform — you describe exactly what you want, and chefs near you send you a bespoke quote. No fixed menus, no random restaurants.

You only pay once you accept a quote — nothing is charged while you're still deciding. Once you do pay, we hold your money and only release it to the chef after your order is confirmed delivered or collected. Changed your mind? Cancel free for 10 minutes after paying, or until your chef starts preparing, whichever comes first — refunded in full.

Most are passionate home cooks rather than restaurant chefs — and that's the point. Every chef can share proof of food hygiene registration with us, and every order can be rated publicly, so reputation is built one meal at a time. Your payment is also held with us until you confirm your food arrived, so you're never paying for a meal you haven't received.

Message your chef directly on the order — most things are sorted in a few minutes. If it needs us, use Report a problem on the order and a real person will pick it up.

Download the app and set up your profile — photos, what you cook, where you're based. A food hygiene certificate is optional but worth adding: it's the fastest way to stand out once your profile is live. We're onboarding our first chefs in Milton Keynes now, so we'll come back to you personally.
