Delete Your Account

Last updated: August 2026

This page explains how to permanently delete your Chefnero account — as a customer or as a chef — whether or not you still have the app installed, and exactly what happens to your data when you do. You do not need to be signed in, or have the app installed, to request deletion.

Option 1 — In the app (fastest)

If you still have the Chefnero app installed, this takes under a minute:

  1. Open the Chefnero app and sign in to your account.
  2. Tap the Profile tab in the bottom navigation.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page.
  4. Tap “Delete my account” (shown in red, just below “Sign out”).
  5. Confirm by tapping “Delete account” in the dialog that appears.

The same steps work for both customer and chef accounts. Your account is deleted immediately and you are signed out and returned to the sign-in screen.

Option 2 — Already uninstalled the app? Email us

You don’t need the app to request deletion. Email us and we’ll do it for you:

  1. Send an email to support@chefnero.com from the email address on your account, if possible.
  2. Use the subject line “Delete my account”.
  3. Include: the email address your account was registered with, and whether it’s a customer or chef account.

We’ll process the request manually and reply to confirm once your account has been deleted.

What we delete

Requesting deletion permanently removes:

  • Your profile — name, phone number, profile photo, bio, and (for chefs) specialties, cover photo, food hygiene certificate, and service area.
  • Your saved delivery address and any stored location data.
  • For chefs: your photo gallery, and your availability and recurring-schedule settings.
  • Your saved favourite chefs.
  • Your push-notification device token.

Your login is locked immediately so the account can never be signed back into — where possible we delete the login credential outright; otherwise (see below) it is permanently disabled instead.

What we keep, and why

A record of your past orders, quotes, and messages is kept, but your name on them is replaced with “Deleted user” and the rest of your profile is gone. We keep this because:

  • The other party to each order — the chef or customer you dealt with — has a legitimate record-keeping interest in that order history, which we can’t remove just because you’ve deleted your account.
  • Order and payment records are kept for tax and accounting purposes, in line with our normal retention period (typically up to 6 years for financial records — see our Privacy Policy).
  • A review you’ve left may remain visible on a chef’s profile, with your identifying details removed.

This is why deletion is an anonymisation, not a data wipe of everything ever associated with your account — but every piece of information that identifies you personally is removed or replaced.

When deletion might be refused

If you have an order still in progress — anywhere from a new request through to being out for delivery, i.e. anything that isn’t yet completed or cancelled — we can’t delete the account until that order is finished or cancelled. This applies whether you’re the customer or the chef on that order, so nobody is left stranded mid-order. Finish or cancel the order in the app, then request deletion again.

Prefer to keep your account, but delete specific data?

You don’t have to delete your whole account to have certain data removed. You can email us and ask us to delete specific things while keeping your account open, such as:

  • Your profile photo and (for chefs) your gallery images.
  • The text or photos on a review you’ve left.
  • The content of a chat message you’ve sent.
  • A saved delivery address.

To request this, email support@chefnero.com with the email address on your account and exactly what you’d like removed. This is a manual request, not an automated or self-service process — we’ll action it ourselves and confirm once it’s done.

One thing we can’t remove this way, even on request, while your account stays open: your order and transaction records. Those are also the other party’s records of what was ordered and paid for, and we’re required to retain them for accounting and legal purposes (see “What we keep, and why” above). If you want those gone too, the full account deletion above is the way to do it.
