Terms of Service

Chefnero is an online marketplace that connects customers with independent home and private chefs. Chefnero acts solely as an intermediary platform. We do not prepare, cook, handle, or deliver food. Chefs on the platform are independent contractors, not employees or agents of Chefnero. Any contract for the supply of food is formed directly between the customer and the chef.

You must be at least 18 years old to use the App. By registering, you confirm you are 18 or over and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are registering on behalf of a business, you confirm you have authority to bind that business.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate and up-to-date information during registration. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised use of your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4.1 Customers submit a free-text food request, which is visible to chefs on the platform. 4.2 Chefs respond with a quote setting out the dish(es), price, and any relevant terms. No contract exists until the customer accepts a quote. 4.3 Customers may negotiate by sending counter-proposals through the in-app chat. All discussions and agreements should be made within the App. 4.4 Once a customer accepts a quote, a binding contract is formed between the customer and the chef at the agreed price.

5.1 All payments are processed securely through Stripe. By making a payment you agree to Stripe's terms of service. 5.2 Chefnero charges a service fee on each transaction (shown at checkout before payment). This fee is non-refundable except where stated otherwise in our refund policy. 5.3 Chefs receive their share of the payment directly via Stripe Connect to their registered bank account. Payout timing is subject to Stripe’s standard schedule. 5.4 All prices are in GBP and inclusive of any applicable VAT where the chef is VAT-registered.

6.1 Customers may cancel an order within the cooling-off window (displayed in the App after payment) for a full refund. 6.2 After the cooling-off window has passed, cancellations are subject to the chef's discretion. Chefnero will facilitate communication but cannot guarantee a refund. 6.3 If a chef cancels an order after payment has been made, the customer will receive a full refund automatically. 6.4 Refunds are processed to the original payment method and may take 5–10 business days to appear.

By registering as a chef on Chefnero, you confirm and agree that: 7.1 You will comply with all applicable food hygiene and safety legislation, including the Food Safety Act 1990, the Food Hygiene (England) Regulations 2006, and any regulations applicable in your jurisdiction. 7.2 You hold (or will obtain) any registrations, licences, or permits required to prepare and sell food from your premises, including registering with your local authority as a food business. 7.3 You will accurately describe the food you offer, including all allergen information as required by the Food Information Regulations 2014 (Natasha's Law). You are solely responsible for allergen disclosures. 7.4 You will fulfil orders within the agreed timeframes and communicate promptly with customers through the App. 7.5 You will only use the platform for lawful purposes and will not misrepresent your qualifications or food offerings. 7.6 You are solely responsible for your own tax obligations, including income tax and VAT where applicable.

8.1 You will provide accurate delivery information and be available to receive your order at the agreed time. 8.2 You will treat chefs respectfully and communicate in good faith throughout the ordering process. 8.3 You will only use the App for personal, non-commercial food orders.

Chefnero does not verify allergen information provided by chefs. It is your responsibility as a customer to clearly communicate any allergies or dietary requirements directly to the chef before confirming an order. Chefnero accepts no liability for allergic reactions or dietary issues arising from food prepared by chefs on the platform.

Any dispute about food quality, non-delivery, or order fulfilment is between the customer and the chef. Chefnero may, at its discretion, assist in mediating disputes but has no obligation to do so and cannot be held liable for the outcome. Where a Stripe chargeback is raised, we will cooperate with Stripe’s dispute resolution process.

You must not: • Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any laws • Harass, abuse, or harm other users • Post false, misleading, or fraudulent content • Attempt to circumvent payments by transacting outside the App • Scrape, copy, or reverse-engineer any part of the App • Create multiple accounts to abuse promotions or evade bans

The Chefnero name, logo, and App are owned by Chefnero Ltd. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App for its intended purpose. You retain ownership of content you submit (photos, reviews), but grant Chefnero a licence to display that content within the App.

13.1 Chefnero is a marketplace and is not a food seller. We are not responsible for the quality, safety, or legality of food prepared by chefs. 13.2 To the fullest extent permitted by law, Chefnero's aggregate liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the value of the transaction giving rise to the claim. 13.3 We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses, including loss of profit or data. 13.4 Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data. By using the App, you agree to our Privacy Policy. We process payment data in accordance with PCI-DSS standards via Stripe.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the App. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you breach these Terms or for any conduct we reasonably believe harms the platform or other users. You may delete your account at any time through the App settings.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
